About me
I am a qualified and experienced therapist with a MA/PGDip in Counselling and Psychotherapy from the University of East London. I am also a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (MBACP).
Our therapeutic relationship is the key to good therapy for you, so I think it’s important for you to know a bit about me to decide whether I might be the right fit for you. Before I qualified as a therapist, I worked in the music industry in London for 15 years. I am also a trained actor and have been acting for over 20 years. It is not too far removed from therapy - empathy for the depths of the human character. As a working creative, I know what it is to struggle with identity and to have an alternative lifestyle that society can stereotype and stigmatise, and that can be emotionally, mentally and often financially challenging.
I have experience of working with adults of all ages but increasingly, I am working with Gen Z and Millennials searching for their path, as well as older adults of retirement age, dealing with all forms of loss and searching for rich and purposeful lives outside of the working norm.
I am an ally to anyone who feels unseen and unheard. I want you to know that your voice and your intersectionality matters.
I have worked for You and Me Counselling centre for young people and their families, as a bereavement counsellor for St Francis Hospice and as a community navigator for MIND, helping those with managed mental illness to engage with their communities.
